Interior de una Casa, c. 1901 by Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo
About the artwork
Painted around 1901, this work depicts a woman seated before a large fireplace in a rustic domestic interior, surrounded by copper and tin utensils hung on blue-washed walls. The composition reflects Hidalgo's Impressionist sensibility, with loose brushwork capturing the ambient light of the room and the quiet rhythm of everyday domestic life. The work remained in the family of the artist until it was auctioned in 2025 from the estate of his nephew, Eduardo Hidalgo Paz.
