Print Quality

Print Quality – Our printing process is designed to faithfully reproduce artworks using the finest inks and papers available today. A world away from mass-produced posters, we pride ourselves on creating beautiful, affordable fine art prints in-house, tailored for the discerning interior lover.

Giclée Printing – To achieve consistent, outstanding quality, we produce every archival pigment print (also known as giclée) to order using the same ink, paper, and printing techniques used by museums worldwide. (Giclée is pronounced “gee-clay” with a soft G).

Our archival giclée prints are renowned for their vibrant tonal range and the handmade feel of their beautifully textured papers. When done authentically, the quality of a giclée print is far superior to all other forms of printing, making it the closest reproduction method possible for matching an original artwork.

Pure Cotton Canvas Paper – We print each Musée Art piece on 320 GSM paper. GSM is a measurement of paper thickness based on the weight, in grams, of a sheet of paper that is exactly one square meter in size. Higher GSM paper is generally thicker and less likely to tear or crease.

Museum-Grade Canvas Papers – Our museum-grade canvas papers are made from 100% cotton pulp, which lasts for hundreds of years without fading, discoloration, or deterioration, as no chemicals are used in its production. Unlike wood-based or synthetic mass-produced alternatives, cotton fiber paper retains its quality over time.

Inks – Archival pigment printing (giclée) uses inks with longevity rates calculated to exceed 100 years. To achieve a perfectly color-accurate reproduction of the original artwork, this printing technique utilizes ten or more different ink colors that are color-profiled to match the archival paper.
